Botanische Tuin Zuidas is a hidden botanical garden behind the VU in Amsterdam South. It lies in a very urban setting and is free to visit.
History
The garden has existed since 1967 and was formerly known as the Hortus Botanicus of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Nature & Design
Around one hectare contains about eight thousand species and hybrids. I amsterdam mentions special trees, shrubs, bamboos and ferns. The cactus and succulent collection is described as the largest in the Netherlands.
