Description
Botanische Tuin Kralingen is a green oasis in Rotterdam's Kralingen district. Hidden between houses and school buildings, it feels surprisingly calm.
History
The garden has existed since 1912. According to the Friends of the garden, entrepreneur Willem Simon Burger donated the land to the municipality in 1910 for public benefit.
Nature & Design
The site includes special planting, a pond with fountain, greenhouse, seed house, medicinal garden, fern garden and rose garden.
Visitor Information
The garden is free to enter during Natuurstad opening hours; in summer there are also Sunday openings.
Did You Know
The garden is now a national monument and is often called the pearl of Kralingen.
