Description
Hortus botanicus Leiden is the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands, tucked behind the Academy Building on the Rapenburg. It combines historic garden design with plant collections from around the world.
History
The Hortus was laid out in 1590 as a study garden of Leiden University. The Clusius Garden refers to Carolus Clusius and the earliest layout.
Nature & Design
