Description
Around De Boswerf visitor centre in Zeisterbos lies an educational garden featuring plants and landscapes of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
History
De Boswerf began as a school biology centre in 1976 and became a public visitor centre in 1997. The garden received its present educational design in 1998.
Nature & Design
Herbs, butterfly plants, an apiary, woodland pond, minibeast garden and edible demonstration garden adjoin a natural play forest with stream and water pump.
Visitor Information
The garden is free Wednesday through Friday and on Sundays. It closes earlier in winter.
Fun Facts
Many plants are labelled, while children can search for pond life, climb, build and play with mud within the same grounds.
