Description
Heemtuin Zaandam lies in Burgemeester In 't Veldpark and is described as a small paradise in the heart of Zaandam.
History
The garden originated in the 1950s during the creation of the park, when a washout hole was turned into an educational nature garden.
Nature & Design
It includes reed beds, water, marshy banks, hay meadow, woodland, a herb garden, demonstration gardens and a beehive area.
Visitor Information
The garden is free to visit during the opening hours of the Zaans Natuur & Milieu Centrum; dogs are not allowed.
