Above the animal meadow in Stadspark lies a compact native-plant garden filled with wild species that occur naturally in the Netherlands. It offers a quiet green stop in the centre of Lelystad.
History
The garden belongs to the municipality of Lelystad. Volunteers from IVN, KNNV and Landschapsbeheer jointly maintain it and usually work here on Thursday mornings.
Nature & layout
Several habitats demonstrate how native plants respond to soil, moisture and light. Wildlife-friendly management creates room for wildflowers, insects and other small animals.
Visitor information
The garden is free to enter and, according to IVN, always open. It is situated in Stadspark above the animal meadow; its appearance naturally changes with the seasons.
