Description
West of the castle park lies a 0.4-hectare native garden summarising the river landscape around Wijk bij Duurstede.
History
It officially opened in 1993 as a joint project of the municipality and the local Nature and Environment Association.
Nature & Design
Dyke, river dune, fields, pond, hedges, orchard and grasslands show how the Rhine, clay extraction, livestock and fruit growing shaped the area.
Visitor Information
The garden is free and maintained by volunteers with the municipality. Local schools use it for nature and biology education.
