Description
At the end of the Stadsweiden district lies Natuurtuin Harderwijk, part of the green De Rietmeen site. The garden combines encounters with nature, play, education and social activities.
History
Hortus Harderwijk developed the garden project together with De Rietmeen. The grounds support volunteering, daytime activities and community contact, while visitors can explore nature independently.
Nature & layout
A tree trail, barefoot path, apiary, willow hut and willow tunnel are distinctive features. Play elements such as a mud ditch encourage children to touch, test and discover.
Visitor information
The nature garden is free to visit during De Rietmeen's opening hours: Monday 1-5 p.m., Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 1-5 p.m. and Sunday 1.30-5 p.m.
Did you know?
The living willow structures continue to grow each season. The hut and tunnel are therefore play objects, ongoing garden work and visible examples of building with living material all at once.
