Description
A series of themed gardens surrounds Museum Klok & Peel, bringing the natural and cultural history of the Peel landscape outdoors.
History
The garden began in 1972 beside the former nature study centre and Jan Vriends Museum. Volunteers and local gardening groups expanded its collections and educational features.
Nature & Design
Features include a stream, peat garden, butterfly garden, bird grove, farm garden, field, toad pond, insect wall, sound garden and bat cellar.
Visitor Information
The gardens can be visited during museum hours. Admission is included in the museum ticket and the Netherlands Museum Card is accepted.
Fun Facts
The sound garden playfully connects the landscape gardens to the museum's other major subject: bells and carillons.
